Example of blog. One of the most harmful effects of stuff is the memories and emotions attached to them. For example, imagine an old lover gave you a clock, a crystal, a chair, a shirt or whatever. Every time you see or wear that thing, it can trigger a memory that in turn triggered an emotional reaction. You then need to break out of that emotional state and bring your attention and focus back to the present moment and what you are dong. So if you have stuff that’s connected to memories and emotions, just walking into a room can become a stressful and draining experience. It’s not worth it!

There are two ways you can deal with these sorts of things.

Option A is to do the inner work to dissociate the object from the memory and emotional reaction so you feel neutral when you see it or wear it. While this is possible, it’s not always easy and depending on how much charge is around this person, it may take a lot of work to make that inner shift.

Option B is simply to remove the object. Out of sight, out of mind. The magic of clearing is that you can swiftly and effectually remove not only stuff, but also emotional reactions from your life in just moments. This doesn’t replace the need for doing the inner work – but it certainly speeds things up and makes you feel a whole lot better now!

If in doubt, toss it out!!
