You have five seconds to change your mind.
After that, there is no normal way to open it early.
Why a real box helps me
I am good at making a plan.
I am also good at breaking my plan when the phone is near me.
I tell myself I will check one thing. Then I check five more things.
An app limit is still on the phone. I can often turn it off.

Once the box locks, I cannot just change my mind.
How I use it at night
I try to put my phone away at 6 or 7 p.m.
I do not do this every night.
Some nights I work late.
Some nights I get lost in an AI project.
I am not perfect at this.
When I use it, I put my phone and internet cable inside.
I set the timer for ten or twelve hours.
Then I hear the lock.
That small sound ends the work day.
Email, news and WhatsApp are no longer an option.
My mind gets quiet.
I read. I meditate. I talk to people. I go outside.
At times, I do nothing.
The next morning is better too
My phone is not beside the bed when I wake up.
I cannot start the day with email or news.
I can eat, think and take care of myself before I go online.
The box changes both ends of my day.
Before K-Safe, I hid my phone under rocks
I knew I needed real space from my phone.
Once, I put my phone and internet cable in a metal box.
I drove twenty minutes into the hills.
Then I hid the box under rocks by a tree.
It worked. I was not going to drive back just to check email.
But I could not drive into the hills each night.

Do not start with a whole day.
Put the phone inside.
Set the timer for one minute.
See how it feels.
Next time, try ten minutes.
Then try an hour or one evening.
The longest I have used it for my phone is about two days.
I have also put a TV remote inside for seven days.
The best feature is also the main risk

That can also cause a real problem.
Do not lock away your only phone if someone may need to reach you.
Make a plan for children, care, health, work and emergencies first.
Never put vital medicine inside.
The box is plastic.
You can break it in a true emergency.

My view
I have used K-Safe for years.
It is still the best tool I have found for a full break.
I make one choice while my mind is clear.
